Referencing Style Guide: Figures and Tables

This guide explains how to reference according to the APA 6th Edition.

Reference Basics

Any type of illustration other than a table is called a figure. A figure may be a chart, graph, photograph, drawing, digital image or other depiction.

Tables are used to clearly display information such as results of an experiment.

Figures and tables are also created from research conducted by students, as in a scientific report. See pages 16-18 for the Figures and Tables pages in the printed APA Referencing Guidelines for more information.
