A current student or staff ID card is required to borrow items through the library Self Checkout or library staff. You are responsible for all library materials borrowed in your name until the items are returned to the library.
Use the My Library Record option to log into your account, to check your due dates, renew your loans, view your borrowing history and create permanent or temp lists of items for a bibliography for future use.
Prescribed texts are placed in the Reserve collection located behind the Circulation Desk. These items may be borrowed for up to 2 hours and used within the Library. Anatomy models, on request, may be borrowed for up to 2 hours and used within the library.
You may place a Hold on an item that is out on loan, by logging on to the online catalogue or by contacting the Library. The item will be held for collection upon return, the requester contacted and the item held for 3 days for collection.
Overdue Notices and Library Fines
Late: It is your responsibility to return library items on or before the due date / time. Courtesy notices are sent to your College email account as a reminder of items on loan and due dates. A late fine of $1 per day (or $1 per 2 hour period for Reserve items) will be charged until the item is returned.
Items that are not returned within 3 weeks of the due date are regarded as Lost. Borrowing privileges are withheld if items are overdue, or if the total Library fine exceeds $100. Student results will also be withheld until all library fines are discharged.
eReserve assistance in digitizing course related readings for inclusion on the LMS is provide by completing the EReserve Request Form.
Inter Library Loan
If you require access to a published work not held by ACPE Library, please submit an Inter Library Loan Request Form.
One copy of the core textbook on Unit Reading Lists is placed in the Reserve collection. Please advise the library of changes as soon as possible.
Streaming Video Services
The Library subscribes to EduTV streaming database which contain hundreds of video clips suitable for embedding in LMS pages. The Library’s ScreenRights license also allows for the recording and cataloguing of off-air TV programmes.You may also want to digitise students' performances and presentations. Contact Library staff for logins or assistance. Please provide at least 48 hours notice for recordings.

eBooks are a fantastic resource available 24/7. Search the catalogue and use material type: eBooks.
Books from the Library's Main Collection can be mailed to distance and online students who live outside the Sydney metropolitan area and within Australia. Distance and online students may request photocopies/scans of chapters, provided that such requests are copyright compliant. Fines accrue daily on any overdue items.
Request an item by logging in to My Library with your usual student log in.
Requested items will be posted to you. You will receive an email notification when the item has been sent. Items must be returned to the Library by the due date. Fines accrue for materials returned late.
Joining the Library
ACPE Alumni are welcome to take up library membership. To join the Library you must complete an External or Alumni Membership Application form. You must also present a photo ID and have proof of your Alumni status.
Most Alumni members of the Library choose to transfer their student membership to an alumni membership on completion of their studies. Membership is free.
Alumni members can borrow 4 items from the Library's major collections for up to 14 days, with 1 renewal. Some resources are available for use within the Library only. Items can be photocopied - within the restrictions of the Copyright Act - or can be scanned to email.
Reference & Research Assistance
Reference and research assistance is provided by highly skilled staff and can be provided via our online reference service Ask-A-Librarian, via our Chat service or in person at the Library desk.
Fee based services including photocopying and Interlibrary Loans are available on request. For inquiries, please contact the Library Service Manager
Members of the community are welcome to consult materials within the Library. Requests for borrowing privileges from members of the community involved in personal research will be considered.

Community members to the Library are permitted to borrow up to 4 items for 14 days at the same time from the loanable collections. These items may be renewed once, providing they have not been reserved by other users, but cannot be placed on hold by community members.
The annual fee for membership is currently $30.

Printing, Copying and Scanning
Computers in the Library connect to the College’s network to support printing, copying and scanning. Scanning to your email account is available free from the photocopying machines. Colour printing, A3 paper, double sided printing/photocopying and automatic stapling is available.
